Mancelona Fire District

Box 548 Mancelona, MI 49659 Ph:231.587.5311 Mancelona Fire Department was formed February 6, 1893 with 2 companies being formed: The Mancelona Hook and Ladder Company and the Mancelona Hose Company. The Fire Department then became the Mancelona Village Department with the addition of a new 500 gallon front mount pumper in 1946. The Mancelona Fire District was formed on April 1, 1985 covering The Village of Mancelona, Mancelona Township, Lakes of the North, part of Custer Township including Schuss Mountain Shanty Creek Resort. District Area Mancelona Fire District covers over 100 square miles of Mancelona Township, Mancelona Village and part of Custer Township Fire Station Locations Before 1987 the fire department was housed in the village garage located behind the Mancelona Municipal Building. Around 1986 the building housing station #2 was built at the lakes of the North airport. Around 1987 the building housing the station #1 was built on Cedar River Road. Membership Currently our membership consists of 38 members; 30 at station #1 and 8 at station #2. Training Mancelona has five certified Fire Fighter Training Council state instructors. A majority of the membership is certified as Firefighter one and two. Officers are certified in Company Officer One and Two and Officer Three. All members are Incident Command certified from the basic to the advanced Incident Command Systems. Medical certification ranging from Medical First Responder to Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians are required. Inspection/Investigation and Fire Prevention Mancelona Fire District has a Fire Prevention Bureau that is involved with fire prevention in the Mancelona Public Schools, Mancelona Head Start and Mancelona Area Senior Citizens. The Bureau also inspects all local businesses and industry. Members are active in fire investigation of all local fires and some members are actively involved with the Antrim County Fire Analysis Team investigating fires in Antrim County.Bellaire Fire District

The Bellaire District Fire Department provides fire and rescue services for the Village of Bellaire, Kearney Township, and Forest Home Township.
Emergency services include:
- Structural firefighting.
- Advanced life support-emergency medical services & assistance.
- Search and rescue.
- Vehicle extrication.
- Hazardous material operations-level response.
- Wild land and urban interface fire suppresion.
- Mutual aid responses with other departments.
- Scene stabilization and security.
- Public fire education.
- Emergency responses not otherwise classified.
Regular meetings of the Bellaire Fire District Authority Board are held on the second Monday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. at the fire hall located at 735 Broad Street.
Ambulance service in the Bellaire area is provided by the Township Ambulance Authority.
